Not much to report....

Well a little bit. I can see a chance of making a start on these chaps in the near future & that.


Idea is to have a £35 per month budgie & paint any items purchased before getting anymore. Ideally within the month so the army continues ata decent rate. Now i could dive in& do all the characters & stuff first but that can be where the tedium demon gets you. I find it best to do the rank & file first & get it out of the way whilst enthusiasm is still high.

So first up for ordering via GBGHQ is a unit of Geoguths at £24. Makes sense to go for the unit deal & save the money. Plus saves me fretting over unit compo. I'l let CoS & the Lord worry about that.

Total purchase this month then is £24, plus 2 LBM tranny packs. With the postage at £3 I came in £2 under budgie at £33. I'll carry that £2 over to next month as I am sure I' ll need it at some point.

Just got to wait for the shineys to arrive......

Well revisiting the list the first thing that pops out (oooer) is that I need toshave orf 23 points to be within my 1500 pointsies.

Oh & Ed's power of love.. erm, power of 3 rool thing clearly states I should have 9 skirmishers not 8.....

What I will probably do is work out what characters go with which unit & take a rank & file fig out of the equation to keep the unit looking tidy innit.

The beginning

The third Saxon army here at EVM towers follows on from The Mighty Mercians circa C11th ish & Wulfhere's Pagan Horde of some time earlier. With the release of the all new singing & dancing GB Saxons by the Soapster, the opportunity to field a slighty different army, was too good to miss. These are the buckler wielding, non shieldwall forming, very early Saxon horde raiding along the Saxon shore & that. It should also spur me on to do the "Arthurian" Romano Britt Ekland army I have had knocking about for some years. In a further bid to "make it so" I'll mostly be reading "T'Warlord Chronicles" by big Bernie C. & taking the sage advice of Da Beast & associated chums.

The list was stolen from Beast chum Tony & all credits & or blame are his alone. Honest. I am too lazy to do my own list & this one looks just fine to represent what I want to do..
